Not too shabby

From some of the other reviews it seemed as though you are using a lot of basic FL things-I am not a FL user so I can't pick any of that out very easily, but this track is pretty cool with the sliding lead and the staccato hits! ---I wish I had the time to be bored and decide to make dance music lol

You will learn you program and begin to create deep original sounds-scapes of your own as long as you keep trying to put out good music like this!
I'll boost you with a five!!

Damn Compression Lossy Format

Least I hope it was the MP3 compression that made the abss end of this song sound like goob. The melodies where not bad, and lots of interesting breaks. Like another reviewer said, the key change was a little unexpected and odd. There are elements to this song that I could not accomplish-imo. Find your niche, your sound, your theme, and create great music!

Dj-Ene responds:

indeed it's the compression that's making the bass sounds wierd.

And thx for the review:)

Space is the Shit

Aight dood, this would be a perfect ambient track, except, oooh I hate to say it because you did a good job programming it, BUT...the bass in my opinion detracts from the song in the begining all up to about a 1:30 into the track. If you were to fill it in when the melody sorta picks up there it would be cool! Sorry...one other thing that I might have tried if it was me, is to use the bass just a little bit around the 1 minute mark where you have those massive whole notes hanging on forever and then drop it right before the small breakdown before that 1:30 like i described above. You did some cool things with the bass later on tho that I liked, with the pitch bends and such. But then again as the song carried on it seemed to me that the bassline detracted from the overall feel of the song in some parts.

All that aside, it is a wonderful and dreamy peice. LOL -it reminds me of the game Spiro. And I am very appreciative that I get to d/l it for future pleasure listening. My G/F loves laid back music like this! Thanks! 5/5 anyways

ps. I think I looped this on my music player like twenty times now while reviewing lol

Rig responds:

Yeah, I think the bass could've been cleaned up a bit as well. It's all the harmonics. Were you listening with headphones? It sounds a whole lot cleaner with some speakers.

Intruiging!

There is a very cool mixture of sounds here. A little heavy in the delay and reverb department. The drums sound live?! Loop, or something you did?
And what else did you do to comprise this rich sound? I like the phat sounding bass, and how upbeat this track is!

VERY NIIICE!

Rig responds:

Thanks for the review! The drum sounds are sampled, actually. I just arranged them and added some reverb. Everything here was made with FREE SYNTHS. The bass was made with a vsti called FreeAlpha, and the melodies were made with an AWESOME plugin called String Theory 1.5. I highly recommend it. :-D

Orgasmic

Right from the start it had a pleasing sound, and so I listened, and I reviewed, and now I am satisfied. Not bad-worthy of a d/l. Its rather repetitive in the bass and percussive parts; a little break in these elements may add more tact to this track. I like the delay on the main synth. Nice mix. The ending wasn't good tho because it just stops :(

I'll still d/l!

Rig responds:

I know it stops suddenly. It's not supposed to do that, it's supposed to loop cleanly. I'll fix it. Thanks for the review!

DOOD!!!

I don't think I ever reviewed this track, yet it is one I listen to most out of all the NG songs I have ever downloaded!! I can't believe this. Honestly, I don't know how I ever stumbled upon this nearly two years ago but it has alway been one of my favorites! It just seems like all is in dark dispare with no hope for future in this song. Everything seems to get decimated and destroyed. The title is very fitting-like I have said before: you paint very vivid pictures with your music, and crazy emotions.

Keep making great music my friend!

Thanx! :)

Damn Compression B/S

Okay so this song would be real cool to listen to if the quailty didnt suck so bad. I know it's not your fault. This would have really nice power to the synths if it was in a better bit-depth. You'll have to get me that full version.

I am glad to hear from the other reviews that you improved on the original song, but unfortunately I haven't heard the original and can't really comment. Like I said before this song would rock the house in full quality. I can hardly listen to it on this page tho :(

Yes, I am an audiophile.
Great collab!
I'll drop you a five!! YESSIR!

thanks for the 5 and the review! like i said, the cut down file size gave the song horrible quality! pm me or email me for the GOOD version! checking out your songs now!

Great production!

My friend, you are trully talented. I expect you to go places with these skills. The production and sequencing on this track is amazing. I love how you tie in all the glitch lo-fi stuff and out of seemingly random ambience comes an intense, emotional beat. Great sound fx, I am assuming you recorded and created many of them? Good panning and clarity through out the mix.

I did indeed, it was a labour of love:)
Thanks again.

darkness...

HAHA, I have been playing alot of FEAR with my bro lately, and this would be very fitting. Some spots seemed a little cluttered. And there was almost a need for mixing as it sounded a little distorted too, but then again that was sorta the aim, huh?

The song doesnt blend as a loop very well, and I know, based off all your other great works, that this small section will be a great intro for a long large kick ass song-your good at making 'em long and GOOD. :)

FIFEN-cuz that's what bro's are for!

I will await a longer version....

SolusLunes responds:

Cluttered? That was about four instruments :D

Yeah, the distortion was deliberate, if it's too perfect it kind of detracts from the feel of misty-spacy-ness-ess-ess of it. You know what I mean. :p

Anyways, I actually wasn't thinking of making this song longer, but now that you mention it, I might ;)

Groovin'

The track was okay.
I liked the bassline during the piano parts, kinda jazzy and movement provoking. You included an odd mixture of elements in this song. But with an increase in elements becomes and increased need for proper mixing. In some parts the bassline was too loud. In most cases the song seemed generally low in volume as though you are not using the very limited bit depth that we have been givin to work with on computers. It was also very mon sounding.

But this was on the top five so you got a review, and a *high five* from me. One of my favorite parts is the pinao section, and also the accomponied trance feel right after ( i think the second one with the warbled VG sounding grunge sytnh).

Keep it wildstyle!

chutzpah responds:

Definitely true. I have started learning how to better mix my songs now and hopefully that won't be a factor in the future.

Mono sounding... well yeah maybe out of laziness and lack of FL skillz at the time, yeah.

The instruments... This is the first song I ever made my own instruments on, in fact I think they might all be just a little customized. Thanks for the review, its way better than I would have given it.

I have a degree in Recording and Engineering.........
so, what now!? I'll just make music...
