Blues, eh :p

This is the first "blues" submission that I have actually listend to here on NG. I hope that you were the one playing hte guitar. Cuz that would make this a fairly cool tune. Unfortunately it sorta just ends with out really havign an ending.

It was a pleasent listen while it lasted!

Flavouredspine responds:

Yeah i play all the Guitar on these songs.
Hehe i might try and fix the end of that song. Thanks dude.

1st song ever?

Sorry but this is really repetitive. Keep playing with you new program and learn how to create awesome music by takign notes from others who have started in a similar path as yours. Listen to what the pros are doing, d/l music that fits your style and emmulate it!

8ball8 responds:

Thanks for your review. I'll try that. That is a really repetitive song.

eek-so close but no cigar(burger)

The clap attack jsut killed this submission for you! Sorry. But with out that the song would have been a decent submission for let say maybe Video Game as it lacks in melody and overall drive. The synths sound very simplistic.

But like I said-I would have really enjoyed this song with out those claps.

Keep it wildstyle

8ball8 responds:

Thanks for reviewing. I really don't know what to do with the synths, because I'm very knew at FL Studio and I try to keep it basic. I'll look in to that. Thanks again.

JAGs Review (?!)

Well I already critiqued you alot up to the point of submitting it-there isn't much else my ears and knowledge can say.

I do love the initial start, it is a classic sounding beat from teh start. The whole peice gets a lil repetitive jsut before the piano-but I can't preach too much(listen to my crap).

As I said the first time you dropped me a sample that first synth that comes in is amazing...it's like it appears outta thin air as if it was enchanted by magic.

Then as your getting close to the breakdown which comes too quick, as in it was rushed, there is a second melody with a different synth than the first one you introduced at the begining-just before that synth comes in you need to pause almost the whole mix to add that power feel as it kicks back in (like Zenon was talking about). I dont think it would make a choppy transistion on bit. Yeah, do a phase out or something, jsut distrot and move the whole mix and then POP kick it all back in with that new sytnh-and DONT RUSH THE BREAKDOWN!

I can't wait to hear the final product!

Keep it wildstyle!

MattBlair responds:

Wow, sweet review... Sweet sweet sweet. Like I told ZENON, I plan on using both of your ideas within the completion of the track.

Keepin it Wildstyle yo!

Techno?

A guy was telling me today what he defined techno as, and he said its like electronica in the broad sense but it involves much more distortion and shit sort like this song you made. I dunno if this is really techno, but it is really interesting listening to all the lil thigs you put into it. SOme things get really annoying tho and cauze my ears to bleed. Decent beats and transitions thru out. The song never stayed the same it kept on moving towards something. The intro was way hot.

Cool stuff-Imma check out your other jams!
Keep it wildstyle!

which parts were too much do you think (in minutes/seconds)? I don't know if what i make is techno or not, it just seemed the appropriate place, out of the options. thanks

Ummm, I would have classified this as VG becasue teh sytnhs sounded old school and beta like as did the really cool bassline and beat. My favorite part was when it kicked in. Good track though, I actually enjoyed listening straight thru it.

end REVIEW

Khuskan responds:

I normally only tag my actualy VG remixes as VG music. Again, its an old track, so to be honest, I don't really care anymore. I don't intend to remake this one.

Mics?

How many mics you runnin on that drum set and what kind? Tell me you process of recording :)

You got drum skillz dood-nice dbl bass too :p
And the tom rolls are great!

Thx JAG

PERVOK responds:

you may not believe me....
1 mic.
worth about...$15.
but i got this new sound card in my computer, so theres next to none noise. But if i record with my laptop, there is NO noise.
I position it a little higher than my two tome, but itd be facing more to the high tom (cause the high hat and snare are there)

so then the loud things to the left(when you face the set straight on) are quiter, and the quiet things (my china to the right) is louder.

and it picks up the snare drum gewd too.

thanks for the review!

waxed for words

I cant say it in any better words than ljcoffee did as far as the technical parts of thsi song go. All your stuff seems to be somewhat mono, hmmm (I'll have to check my gear as well.)

I think that this is a great remix tho-its almost stand alone and definitely competes with ParagonX9.

The more i listened the more inclined I was to a D/L

Gratz!
JAG

PERVOK responds:

i know...the mono-ness...
well, since this is a remix, and i didnt wanna pt any undue pressure on myself that night when i was making this, i just did put too much work into actually...making it diverse, or simply playing with FX or anything.

so, again, thanks for the review!

NICE

The first thign I thought when I heard the drums was wow those sound real! As I work and learn in a studio all day I am begining to get the ear for it. Then I read some of your other submissions and I gathered that you have a real kit. Beuno! I like it because it makes the song so much more real. One complaint-it sounds a little mono. The mix needs a little help. Other than that I really liked the how you drownded the audio and then did like a reversed phase thing coming back into it. A+ there! I am gonna d/l this one! And d/ls most always get a 5!

JAG

PERVOK responds:

hahaha...yes, you DO have the ear for it, my friend. But...sadly those are not real.
I grabbed those samples royality free off the net.
amazing, no?
Yeah...im thinking i should ahve made them more diverse or someting.
And the 'drowning' thing, actually is a lot simpler than you might think.

A simple filter on the master FX channel, and a nice littler controlled auto-mation clip.

*thumbs up*

thanks for the review!

The Madness

DO MAKE A FULL VERSION! I WILL PRAISE YOU!

Keep it wildsytle!
JAG

PERVOK responds:
