A Good Kinda "Pretty Lame"?! lol

Hmmm...not overly gay--but loud and annoying. I think I have heard worse shit...hmmm Clay Aiken?!

Good jocular attempt at making fun of bad electronic music tho.

HAHA! THANX! this is exactly the kind of review i was expecting =P I was BOOOREEED xD

HAHA

This is really loud for some reason?! Guess you just have everything to the max! Thanks for the link. Now if it were longer i could consider using it. :)

DJ-Chilvan responds:

Haha, yea, I have a pet peeve with quiet ringtones (parties and social gatherings can get bumpin and pretty loud =P). Hey, if you would like me to make it a full version for your compilation, just let me know!

Gratzi!! Teh essplode!

If you're into old vg music like I am how could you not appreciate this! Hurray. Good work. Some of the drums shoulda been more 8-bit classics like you would get from eh commodore64. There is a vst called toad that is free and has some good vg samples.

Nestrogen responds:

Wow, thanks... shame more folks on here did not check this out.
Toad? No way, man... that's one of the worst, generic 8bit set of percussion/effects ever. Leave that VST to the chiptune noobs. :P
I DO love me some C64 drums though... which can NOT be found on Toad. If you want any samples...etc. hit me up via email.

Rig Ur Still Kickin!!

Yes first review--unless I typ too long....

So glad to see you are still cuttin up audio! I look back on all my NG downloads and for some reason you show up more than most. Guess I just enjoy your styles. Hope you are going to finish this one with its thick delayed attack bassline!!

Hey small request--want to make me a winter themed song for winter2009 live mix cd?! Prefer dance/trance/techno genre!

Cheers! Keep it up!

zenodio responds:

Uuhhmm... I'm not Rig... I'm just a fan of him who tried to remake one of his remixes of an old song that comes with FL.

But thanks a lot for the review anyways man.

Nice Club Track "Mu-fucka"!!!

Had me worried in the begining because the intro is so slow to take off to the synths. I might have to d/l this for the vocals alone. I have troubles finding dance music with vocals for my live mixes of NG music.

The synths are lush but seem to not be too harsh to the overall mix. There just seems to be a missing element.Towards the end (2:20 and after) I think you need some more band sweeping fizzy type -almost trance-like synths- just playing to the rhythm. Nice work overall.

Dj-Br8kz responds:

I thought it would be funny to put a vocal of my self or something just to liven things up lol. The song isn't finished yet i just wanted to see what kind of feedback i get before i finish up. I do need some kind of ear grabber for the ending. Thanks for the feedback! =) The style of i music i like to make is more chill and melodic then most trance or techno. I do like to experiment with other styles sometimes and want to collab if anyone is up for it. i use goldwave, fl, and acid pro

HAHA ''Eyes Screem''

Nice laugh track! It made me smile thats the point right?! Shits dirty and funny the vocals seem so serious but the music is cheese-it's a good peice in a satirical sense. :P

Nice! had to d/l for hope to fit into a live mix of mine one day!!

Any suggestions on your favorite personal work that is a little more "serious"?

Webzex responds:

Lol thanks for the feedback.=)
And yeah I do all sorts lol from dubstep to ambient to christmas songs.lol
so it depends what you like aha ^^

Crunchy Bass :)

Hey dood not sure if you intentionally mixed it this way but it seems as tho the bass overrides everything?! Could be a compressor issue or maybe a lack of mixing? I just wish the drums were louder, then this would really bang! I still think you would getting your peaceful feel even with the drums up.

xerochi responds:

Yeah a few years ago when i made this I made one copy of a ruff draft. Then my hard drive crashed and I lost my original file. This is that ruff draft. The things you point out are VERY evident to me and it drives me nuts when i listen to it! But thanks For a Good score:)

Yey Castle Crashers

I loved the level and the song and had to investigate to whom I should give it credit too! Great song-interesting to hear the ending, as I don't think it is in the game loop. I am a fan of glitchcore or IDM or w/e stupid genre ppl try to place music-anyway-I like the tweaked ending. Great thick bass on the kick!

snayk responds:

Thanks for the review! Yeah, this is the original track, but when Tom asked if he could use it for CC, he asked if it would be alright if he removed the noisy ending and looped the beginning or if I could write a different ending.

The version I wrote for CC is available here:

Thanks for the review!

Wonderful!

Sorry for the late review! I can't remember how long ago you sent this link to me, and I saved it to my desktop and finally I am at the essence of another great peice by you.

Very cold. Sorta dark, yet mysterious and wandering; a hint of loneliness. It is amazing how tight the audio embraces the listener, yet the sound scape continuously pushes outward and away creating great depth all in one.

Nice choice of synths, and a crying melody in one of the leads from the first minute up to the second. The piano floats effortlessly in the background and seems to be a reminding element as the back bone of the song. It would have been impossible for me to resist the urge to ruin this audio by adding percussion, but you on the other hand did a great job-again!

Keep it wildstyle!

SolusLunes responds:

Ah, don't be sorry for the late review. MAKE UP FOR IT BY MAKING MOAR MUSIC, I DEMAND IT OF YOU >:((((

The pads were a great way to widen the scale of the... well, visualization of the song. The piano and the square wave did the job of bringing the song in very close, and quite a job they did! :D

That "crying melody" was actually inspired by listening to a wolf howl. I tried to actually synthesize something closer to that before I decided on the pitchbend for the pad.

The reason I didn't add percussion (and wasn't even thought of, in fact) is that I kind of think I'm weak for percussion for the most part in almost all of my songs. So it's extremely easy for me to just overlook or forget about.

Glad you liked it though! :D

VG -NON STOP- :]

Don't stop pounding that kick drum. We're gonna dbl bass all the way to the top of the VG genre. Honestly if you and I pooled our efforts and found a time machine we coulda made a lot of money when the consoles first hit the market. This tops any VG music I have ever made.

And sorry if that offends you when I consider it VG music.

The melodies are astounding. Jealous. Very dramatic-climatic-and -ic it goes (think we had this convo elsewhere). The only thing I don't like is the phasing bassline that starts off the song. Its cool to a point. IMO I would have maybe faded it out after the intro?! Something bothers me about it. Seems as tho that bassline may cover up or take away from some of the really cool parts you detailed in the song with the lead synths. Love the fade out--nothing to crazy or dramatic--just a classic fade.

Overly solid peice-again!

Keep it wildstyle!
JAG

SolusLunes responds:

IC!

I'm not offended at all by calling it VG music- it's oldschool for the win. :D

The bassline seems to be hit and miss between the people who've listened to this song. Personally, I love it. So it stays. :D

I have a degree in Recording and Engineering.........
so, what now!? I'll just make music...
